Development of protective electronics to prevent body parts from getting stuck between rotating parts
Development of protective electronics to prevent body parts from getting stuck between rotating parts The aim was to develop a lightweight, inexpensive and reliable solution based on a proximity sensor and an associated control unit that detects intrusion into the “protective” space between the rotating parts and the protective fairing.
In case the system detects that this protective area has been breached, it should immediately cut off the power supply to the drive electric motor.
The development task was carried out between January – April 2022, and was completed at TRL7 level, having carried out all prototype tests on a digital prototype, and having delivered a functional prototype of the control electronics ready for serial production. This development task was funded by the client and copyright owner, MEPS, s.r.o., by providing non-refundable financial contribution in the form of innovation vouchers from the NP ZIVSE program, contract number Z_IP_SK_121_0262.
